OK Computer – BBC Radio 4 Celebrates Radiohead

Just came across a play which will be airing this Friday (19th October 2007) based on a story to accompany the album, “Ok Computer”. The play will be on BBC 4 Friday night, a show called “Friday Play”, and is written by Joel Horwood, Chris Perkins, Al Smith and Chris Thorpe, and here’s the basis:

“A man wakes up in a hospital in Berlin. He has no memory of who he is, or where he comes from. Once the details of his life are recovered, he is repatriated to Britain and into his former life. But he is haunted by the suspicion that this is not his real life at all.

The play celebrates Radiohead’s seminal 1997 album OK Computer and draws on themes from each of its 12 tracks.”

Sounds like a great foundation for a film to be directed by the likes of Spike Jonze (adaptation | http://imdb.com/title/tt0268126/) or Peter Weir (The Truman Show | http://imdb.com/title/tt0120382/).

It’s funny, as when I listen to the album as a whole, I get a really similiar feeling which overcomes me. The feeling of being lost, without cause, or that there’s more to life than this reality, a bigger picture, etc.

Might check this out, here’s the link which will give you the info you need to listen live (or to stream for up to a week afterwards):
BBC 4 – Friday Play… If anything it’s an excuse to listen to the album again :p
