Fig Crumbs – Everyday Insanity To Ease The Monday-Friday Pain

excerpt from fig crumbs

I love it when I randomly come across a good writer, story, or even just random garblings which I find hilarious.
Yesterday I found a blog titled “Fig Crumbs” which proves to be all of the above!

Mostly made from random entries, which normally take up no more than a couple of lines, but stupidly entertaining :D

The blog is written by a guy name Michael Crowe, who claims to be a “military sock pairer” or similar (although I’ll have to double check this as I’m going from memory due to blogger being down, as is techcrunch, mashable, and googlemail?? very odd.. maybe I need to reboot…)

A couple of posts that I enjoyed were -45 to 50 million & Them and then Them.

I added the link to his main page in my blogroll, so feel free to go check out the rest of his bits :)

If random images / scenes like the above float your boat, go check out their site: http://www.explosm.net/.

They release a new comic picture every day – some sick, some scary, some sick AND scary.. but always funny as hell :D
They also sell Tees with the characters on, and have art, photos, articles, movies etc..

Check them out – a good way to waste a couple minutes :)

Laura Veirs – Secret Someones (Year of Meteors)

Laura Veirs

wow, really loving this track at the moment, came across it listening to the Josh Rouse “Bedroom Classics Radio Hour” podcast the other night. (You can checkout his podcast at iTunes.)

Anyway, heard this track and it really stuck out, and with every listen it gets better and better.
One of those tracks that puts a smile on your face every time.. the vocal line is great too, works really well, good variations.. and catchy as hell!

The track rolls in at over 5 minutes in length, and is worth every second. The arrangement keeps you listening intently, and flows brilliantly.

This track is from the album “Year of Meteors” which was releases in 2005 on Nonesuch records (on which she has a new album out titled “Laura Veirs – Saltbreakers” which was released in April).

I want to hear it!

You can listen to the sample of “Secret Someones” and the rest of the album at Amazon

Where can I buy it?
