Michael Burns - Separate WaysPart of the Unfold Project
“This track always gives me goosebumps! I love the way the gentle piano gives way to aching strings, strings which build as the track comes to a bittersweet end”
This track came from the idea of a short film, based on a family with a small child.
Black and white film, slow motion frames of happy memories made (playing the the park, watching tv, holidays, etc)
Then, through a horrible tragedy the fathers life was lost, leaving his wife and young boy on their own.
I try to capture the feeling of longing, sadness, and all the other emotions that people have to deal with through those times, but also instil hope (the boy learns to cope, the woman see’s her husband through her boy’s eyes, etc).
